New Valentine’s Pillows & Website

Some new pillows will be headed to @thefoundcottage Monday and will be available online next week. I took a much needed break after the Holidays to rejuvenate my mind and soul during a season full of loss which I will talk more about later. But I’m excited to be back creating and doing what I love. I’m also so excited to be transitioning my online shop to my new website. I have been working with Bello Via Designs for my new site and also my rebranding and you guys, she’s AMAZING! If your in need of a website or branding check her out here http://bellovia.com/

I’m hoping to have everything transitioned over by the end of next week. For those of you asking when my shop is going to reopen it will all be here and its going up in phases. I’m working on pillows first and then will add scrolls and other things from there. This “BLOG” feature will be a way that I can post about project and DIYs that we are currently doing for MSB or for Personal. Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out the new site!

We started building the cabinet in the Mudroom to We started building the cabinet in the Mudroom to really make this space function better for our family. We had made this space smaller when we decided to turn the hall behind this cabinet our master closet. We used 3/4 inch Birch and built the cubbies piece by piece into the frame (old houses are never perfectly sq). It’s 8ft tall, 6.5 ft wide and 14” deep. I have a few ideas on how to make this skinny cabinet function best. I’m thinking one small door for the top cubby and one large door for bottom two. I haven’t decided if we should paint this same trim color for a saturated look or break it up with stain- what do you think? #diy #homeimprovement #homedesign #diyproject
Home is just an empty space filled with things if Home is just an empty space filled with things if it doesn’t have the intention to harbor and function for those who dwell inside. My goal for our home has always been to create beautiful surrounding, be a safe space for others and be a space where memories are easily made. To be a space that serves and functions well to create peace instead of chaos.⭐️ what is your goal for your home?
Transform your textured walls for $20 ❤️ I req Transform your textured walls for $20 ❤️ I requested a quote to remove all this texture from our walls and it was over 1,000 and required loads of sanding 🫣 Soni took matters into my own hands and spent a whopping $20 @loweshomeimprovement for this large container of all purpose sheetrock. I quickly got to work smearing it around with a puffy knife. It’s forgiving and actually alot of fun… I know my idea of fun may be different than yours 🤣 but I actually enjoyed this process aside from my lack of movement in my wrist several days after this BUT it was worth it. After two@layers of Sheetrock to be sure all that texture was gone I then took a damp sponge and smoothed out all the extra bumps and dimples left over. I have NOT attempted this on our ceiling but I do plan to at some point. What do you think? This is the best $20 I’ve spend! I’ve also done this, painted and then hung wallpaper! #diyhacks #diyhomeimprovement #diyhome #homeimprovement
FOUR way to maximize your small Living Room. 1. Cr FOUR way to maximize your small Living Room.
1. Create a seamless wall to ceiling paint/treatments. We removed a picture railing that cut the wall in half and made the room seem shorter than it actually was. We removed all the texture and applied Limewash for more texture + interest.
2. Add character with architectural interest. We added beams to bring your eye up.
3. Creat a main focal point. How do you use the space? What does your family tend to do or what are you family needs. We need to anchor the room creating the fireplace as a focal point. We spend alot of time reading/talking and enjoying the fire together. We already have one tv space we didn’t need another.
4. Create a conversation area. Because this room was small I found an oversized couch (it’s 8ft long and 3’ deep) and added a small barrel chair in a different shape to create a cozy conversation area. I could have added another chair on the other side but I wanted to keep the walkways big and instead added The Fig I’ve had for years back here. I love adding plants to bring a space to life! Check out my stories tomorrow for the before ❤️ #designthinking #designtips #interiordesign
Mudroom Brick floor Reveal!! Ahh- I’m so so happ Mudroom Brick floor Reveal!! Ahh- I’m so so happy with how it turned out. My one regret is no saving myself TONS of scrubbing and pipe if in the grout instead of smearing it ontop. If we ever lay brick again- def a must!
The bricks, sealer and grout are all from @loweshomeimprovement (basically my second home lately!). We used the color ivory in the all in one grout (think grout, sealer + stain resist all together) ❤️ The pattern ended up being more time consuming than I thought but it was worth all the extra cuts + time to make it extra special.
Next up- baseboards + building that cabinet!!

What do you think?
My favorite part of designing this bathroom was dr My favorite part of designing this bathroom was dreaming of the retreat it would be! Close to 6month in Reno and inching closer to the finish line and I’m just really looking forward to using it everyday….and for the construction dust to official bid it’s farewell! I do need to find a solution to my tub issue. I’m short (5’3”) and this tub is HUGE. I can’t soak comfortably haha! Because my feet can’t hit the other side 🤣 I need like a little neck pillow or something but not like a plastic blow up situation- ya know?
What is your favorite part? Do you find your bathroom a retreat? #cljsquad #diyhomeprojects #diyhomeimprovement #bathroomremodel
