Spooky Boys Room

My boys have really been into “spooky” this year. I have never been one to decorate for Halloween but they had so much fun looking at everything spooky Target had to offer I couldn’t help but jump on board. We made their room a little extra spooky by DIYing a BOO sign, Making some Gourd monsters, hanging bats, adding a spider web and DIYing a Felt Ghost Garland (found here). Not only did my boys love everything we created but we had fun doing it together and making lots of memories in the process and really that’s what is most important.

Since they picked out Bats we had already purchased the year before and the spider web I knew I wanted a simple black boo sign. We found a 2×3′ black canvas at Hobby Lobby half off and I already had all the paint. Total for the boo sign was $12. You can use it year after year or paint over it and do something different the Winter/Christmas season.

For the cooler months I do add a down comforter to their beds along with this cute sherpa blanket we got last year from Target and this year I added this big Euro Velvet pillow to make it extra cozy. Ill show you the before picture of their bed with the 20″ pillow. The Euro I added really ties everything together and gives an additional texture with the velvet. I like to keep things simple in here and easy for them to make their bed themselves daily.

How cute is this? They used their imagination and planned everything themselves. I did help with some placement things but they made it their own and they are so proud of what they created.
