Adding a Timeless touch with Hardware

As we have been transitioning into our new home over the past eight months we have made many changes. One of my goals was to make this home timeless with living materials, rich textures, and beautiful details.

Timeless selections can set the tone for a space. They are welcoming with nods to days of old, yet offer an elegance that you just can’t always find these days.

I choose to use Nostalgic Hardware for that very reason. With their beautiful hardware in various styles and finishes it was very simple to find something that would set the tone for our home and incorporate solid materials that will last for decades.

We have been slowly replacing all the interior door hardware in our house to unlaqured brass. I absolutely love the way unlaqured brass changes over time. After a few short months it has already started to darken and show patina. The metal reacts to the oils in your hands which means the more you touch a knob, the faster it will patina.

I love the beautiful Fleur handle on our outdoor set. You can find this exact same set (here). It is elegant, unique, and a simple statement!

We kept the exterior side doors the same.

For the remainder of our interior doors we opted for the long backplate with simple knob.

I love the bathroom lock which is an old style push lock. Such a nod to days of old and a unique feature!

You can find our interior hardware (here).

For the front door we opted for the Burnished Brass New York handle set that would pop beautiful against our solid wood door.

The hardware design has some historical references in its design but offers a simple welcome. I love the simple lines in the handle.  You can find our front door set (here).

Nostalgic Hardware offers solid hardware that you can be confident in adding to your home. I am proud to have had the opportunity to have their beautiful sets in our home.
