Baylens Room is finally finished. Just in time for us to start packing up and moving next week. Although he only had a few short months enjoying this space I would do it all over again.
I am so happy with how this room turned out and most importantly it was so fun to work with Baylen on his big boy room.
Im pretty sure he want to recreate this entire space in our new home.
We finished the bed nook with a bottom bead board panel complete with some left over trim pieces. It makes the entire space look finished and custom.
I added a very cozy wool rug from Annie Selke. Rugs can seem like an afterthought but they really can shift the feel of a room. I wanted to add a layer of warmth and softness since we played up the pattern on the walls/curtains and saturated everything else with a bold color. I choose this wool rug with small bumpy “loops” to provide some extra visual texture. By adding this rug it really provide “calm” and anchored his room.
This project was so fun for me creatively. In the main areas of our home I lean towards the neutral side but with a kids room there are no rules.
I started this project with a few goals. 1. Wanting to provide a fun place for my son to enjoy and 2. wanting to create a timeless room that he can grow into as he matures into his tween years. We accomplished both of those things and we are so pleased with how it turned out. I just hope that the next family to live here enjoys it just as much as we have.
