DIY Star Garland

My daughter recently celebrated her 16th Birthday and although she insisted she didn’t want any “decorations” I decided to make some Star garland to hang around the house not only for her Birthday but also doubling for Christmas décor. It is probably the easiest DIY to date and adds a little extra sparkle around the house.

You will need

  1. Star punch (here)
  2. Glitter Paper (here)
  3. Hot Glue (or glue dots)
  4. String  (here)

First I punched out all my stars and laid them out sparkle down in a row spacing them about 3-4 inches apart. Then I cut my string to my desired length and put hot glue over the string on the back of each star. I let it dry for an hour or so and was ready to hang them all up.

I also tried glue dots which has also worked great but when your applying the glue dot to the back of the star you need to keep the paper on the glue dot instead of peeling it off. I did a small strand with glue dots removing the back and they all stuck together. haha. lesson learned.

If you wanted you could also sandwich your stars so they are doubled sided.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I hope you enjoy this DIY.
