Fall Sugar Cookies

Every Holiday my kids and I love to make these Sugar cookies. We have tried countless recipes but this one is a go to each season for the last several years. They are soft and fluffy and not to sweet. These are by far our very favorite. We usually have friends over with their kids and make an event out of it. This year we made pumpkins and ghosts.

For the Sugar Cookie Dough

  • 4 Sticks butter softened
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp almond
  • 6 tsp baking powder
  • 5-6 cups Flour + more for rolling

You do not need to refrigerate the dough before you start rolling and cutting but it can be stored in your fridge for up to two days prior to use.

When I am rolling out my cookies I like them on the thicker side. So maybe 3/4 of a inch thick.

Bake at 375 for 6-7 min on Parchment paper.

For the Cream cheese Icing

  • 2 sticks cream cheese softened
  • 3 sticks butter softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  •  1/2 tsp almond
  • 1 1/2 lbs powdered sugar

Mix it all together and add coloring as desired.

Its such an easy recipe and really brings us all together as family and friends to have some Fall fun and make some memories decorating cookies together.

Hope you enjoy.
