Old Fashioned Banana Bread

Can you go wrong with Banana Bread? Not in our house. I try and keep some on hand for a quick breakfast on the go or for a after school snack. We also love to add chicken salad on top of a piece for an open faced sandwich. Its sounds weird but trust me – it’s good.

My Nana passed down this recipe to me many years ago and I have cherished it since and I hope you and your family enjoy it as much as we do.

Banana Bread

Preheat oven to 325

  • 1 3/4 cup All purpose Flour ( we used unbleached)
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ripe Bananas
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter at room temp.

Combine – butter, bananas, sugar, salt and eggs with a mixer until combined and smooth. Then add the baking powder, baking soda and flour and combine until well mixed.

Cook on 325 for 45-50 minutes and allow to cool for 10 min.

I always like to double or triple my recipe and give one away, freeze one and keep on for the kids to devour. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting the blog – enjoy your day!
